Armageddon
by Jetset
Code: Raw Style Graphics: Nose
Music: Sam
Code: Sticking to the evergreen
Jetset style, this demo lacks new
effects. Style and design are the
passwords as always. Anyway, what do
we get? Some very very old
zooming-triangle routine, a nice small
dotflag, a pumping lightsourced cube,
nothing worth noticing. The only cool
effect is an improved version of the
Sane Plasma from Arte by Sanity. It
looks HOT! Frankly, this is the best
improvement in routines for ages.
@IParmaC
Graphics: This is a premiere
production of the German section, but
in style it seems they got the rythm.
Nose made some nice graffities, though
not as cool ones as we could see from
the master, Seck. Anyway, I couldn't
mention a thing against the design, it
is very Jetsetty :-).
Music: So-so. It is quite a groovy
song, though a bit monotonious. But
the crazy samples are making it fit
perfectly to the design style. Boom
shak a lak!
All in all: A nice trackmo, and it
seems even cooler in these times of
rare releases...

We shave ass
by Razor 1911
Code: Colorbird, Odeon, Hammer
Graphics: Diesel, Tony
Music: Chorus & Sid
Code: Quite nice from a maineditor...
Oh yes, this is something! Textured
globe, realtime fractal landscape, and
some other cool routines. Contrary to
the other demo release till now
(Armaggeddon) it has a number of great
routines, but some more ideas would
have been necessary for the design...
Although the demo gives us a lot of
effects, the playing time is short, as
@IPwsaC
no routine stayes on the screen for
more than a couple of seconds, and
together with the fast music it makes
the demo very dynamic. Nice work!
Graphics: Hmmm... The picture by
Tony (reminds me a yellow sperm?!) is
totally cool, pushes a lot on the
overall image. The other logowork by
Diesel I would call rather stylish
than excellent, not too detailed ones.
With some more graphics the demo would
have been a LOT cooler...
Music: Oh, this is what we need! The
module 'Killing dancefloor' just kicks
the demo's image a lot. The two guys,
worshipping nowaday's rather electric
guitar based idea of music, made a
very fast, dynamic module, still, they
included a nice melody in it.
Congratulations!
Overall: A winner combination of cool
music and complex effects, though some
more design and graphics wouldn't have
hurt... Anyway, a bright beginning
for a newly re-formed team. Who
knows, maybe they can live up to the
fame of the ancestors...

Sixpack
by Sanity
Code: Zap
Gfx: Cougar
Music: Mel'o'dee
First of all, I must tell you that
this is not a demo, nor an intro, it
is a pack menu...
Yes, in these @IPcougar
times even a nice
new pack menu
counts... But
anyway, it is not
an average
selector, and it
comes from
Sanity, and
anything Sanity
pukes makes the scene go 'wow, cool!'
Code: Well, nothing special, a small
box for texts on the top-left corner
of the screen. Runs on all Amigas.
Graphics: Now this is why it is
special. The pack has a titlepicture
(!), check the clip-art. The main
selector's graphics is just
unbelievable. A full screen girl with
a wooden Sanity logo, and the chick
even blinks at you sometimes! Cougar
did it again...
Music: the K++ tune (!) by
Mel'o'dee of DCS is very nice and
relaxing. Sanity looks for more
people to make the music of the pack!
All in all: What can I say? A pack
in a few hundred Kbytes?! We are
getting quite far from the main idea
of squeezing a few intros on a disk
with a small selector...

@IPseqC
by Andromeda
Code: Head-X Music: Mr.Man
Graphics: Archmage, Fairfax, Quest
Code: At the beginning of the demo we
are informed that the code was
developed for two hard years. And I
can believe that as in the first SH we
had an interview with Head-X, and he
was already working on the project.
But was it worth it? Yes, they won
The Gathering. But on the other hand
it's not a too good demo compared to
other party winners. Most of the
routines are simple filled vectors,
and the design is not as good as in
other Andromeda releases. Although
the parts are all very deatailed and
look nice, the whole demo just doesn't
stand together, it's kinda like seeing
intros in a row.
Graphics: The same goes for graphics
as for the design. Some nice
(extremely nice) logos and pictures as
individuals, but the varied styles
make the demo messed up. Anyway, just
check the graphics as pieces of arts,
not as part of the show. And as I
said the graphics are nice, still,
there are some not so good looking
ones. Fairfax got very active lately,
a lot of his works are being released,
but I can say that his pictures are
very varied in quality.
Music: Again you get a typical
Andromeda tune (in fact 3 of them),
and actually they are extremely
atmospheric and cool. At the
endscroll we can read that only around
150 Kilos were used, but it's hard to
believe hearing some of the cleanest
samples...
Overall: Although it did win the
Gathering '94, I think it's far not
the best from the pride of Norway...

Crashtest
by Cryptoburners
Code: Witness Music: Doh
Graphics: Antony, Solid, Crown
Code: Hmmm... As part of the revival
of CRB, we get this A500 demo from the
French section. Most of the routines
are seen before effects, no, the are
seen better before ones... Zoom
rotating, glenzvectors, fractal
pyramids, etc. Nothing breathtaking,
but they look nice. The design is
very good, timed to music, though it
is getting a bit boring. You know,
I'm talking about the new trend.
Heavy guitar music, effects in white
framed boxes, usual vector links..
ZZZzzzz, C'mon people, there must be
some more ideas in you...
Graphics: Very varied, from very good
to ugly, everything is present here.
But contrary to the Andromeda demo,
they don't ruin the image, the
'unitedness' of the demo. Nice logos
and pictures from Antony, but for
example the bat by Solid could have
been excluded.
Music: A weird guitar tune by Doh.
Some parts of it are good, some are
crap. If I compare it to the other
similar tune of the season (the one in
We Shave Ass), it's not as good as
that one by Sid and Chorus.
Overall: A nice demo, it might have
got a bigger respect if it wasn't
released now, in these times of huge
releases.

Exile
by Facet's Pussy/Desire
Code: Riox, Sacha
Graphics: Zoef, Dwel, Gez, Solid
Music: Antibody, Fabian
Code: Bahh.. What can I say? It
sucks. It is a 500 demo, but it's too
bad for that either. I don't know how
can someone releas routines in '94
when those were outdated yet in '92...
Ugly rotator, sin dots, and so. The
only eye pleasing routine is the
triangle tunnel. The same goes for
the design. It's not funny, crazy or
nice, nor dynamic... The whole demo
is just.. just there without a
special image.
Graphics: The graphical side is a bit
better, though some logos (pg: the
first Desire logo) should have been
excluded. The pictures by Zoef are
quite average, and the situation is
even wors if I compare his Fantasy
copy to the same one copied by
Facet... Still, the first Facet's
pussy and the last Desire logo are
extremely nice.
Music: The module is quite a dynamic
one, with sample from Clawfinger,
aggressive drums, too bad the design
doesn't support it. The end-chip-tune
by Fabian is very nice, makes the ugly
part a bit bearable..
Overall: An average demo, nothing
more, nothing less. From a team
called Facet's pussy I would expect
something funnier, though.
